Growing BSNL, With new ideas and Horizons...

State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has confirmed about addition of maximum number of subscribers in April after beating its private sector competitors for the third month consecutively in a row.

"BSNL has grown itself in April 2016 with 1.32% against the industry average 0.06%. BSNL has consistently giving high growth rate from last months i.e. February, March and April," BSNL declared.

As per latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India {TRAI}, telecom subscriber base in April marginally grew to 105.92 crore from 105.88 crore in March. Mobile subscriber base increased by 0.06% from 103.36 crore in March to 103.42 crore in April.

Mobile segment growth in April was led by BSNL which added 11.39 lakh subscribers, followed by Bharti Airtel (9.78 lakh), Aircel (5.72 lakh), Reliance Communications (1.1 lakh), Vodafone (46,600), Quadrant (Videocon group firm - 25,012) and MTNL (11,591).
Videocon, which has sold its mobile business to Airtel , lost 14 lakh subscribers. Companies which lost subscribers in April included Tata Teleservices (3.97 lakh), Idea Cellular (3.87 lakh), Sistema (42,290) and Telenor (25,496).
